(Please, spare time to read Gen6-8)
*The waters continued to recede until the tenth month, and on the first day of the tenth month the tops of the mountains became visible Gen 8:5NIV*
We give glory to God for permitting us to see another new month. We must not lose sight that everyone did not enter this month in peace of mind. Some have lost beloved ones and there are those caught up in war zones. There are those who are still enmeshed in very challenging emotional crisis, yet some are still in the hospital. If you are alive at all, I mean if you are able to read this post, then God is not through with you. Let us not be like those who celebrate that we are not in the mortuary as if God hated those in the mortuary but let us in humility of heart continue to lift the grieving in prayers because we must test every part of this life; we must test joy and tears and that is the beauty of life.
Our text chapter started with,
But God remembered Noah and all the wild animals and the livestock that were with him in the ark, and he sent a wind over the earth, and the waters receded Gen 8:1NIV
It is a wonderful testimony that God remembered Noah after many days of being locked up in the ark but I want to think that Noah will wonder if it was God or satan that remembered him. When he heard God say, “Hi! Noah, I just remembered you” I believe he heaved a sigh of relief but what followed would have shocked him. God sent a wind and the assignment of this wind was to clear the waters from the surface of the earth. Don’t forget that Noah was in the ark that was upon those waters and those animals will start barking, mooing, roaring and whatever other kind of noise animals make.
This kind of situation came up in -
But Noah found favor in the eyes of the Lord. Gen 6:8NIV
Noah was living his quiet life until he found favor before God and everything changed. Every morning and night Noah and his family never rested because God gave them a gigantic task to build an ark that should take all mankind if they will accept to come in. The ark eventually housed all manners of livestock and wild animals.
Someone could have asked, “It has been long we saw Brother Noah on the playground”, and his neighbor will mockingly respond, “He said he found favor before his God”.
God treats us as His own family and co-workers. When God is dealing with the issues of His own children, He does not follow the rule as He would in blessing the other person on the street. Noah’s destiny was tied to God’s agenda, so each time He dealt with Noah, God connected it to His agenda. That was why when Noah found favor before God, he was employed in what God was out to do at that time. When God decided to bring Noah out of the ark, He was also concerned about where the animals will settle. God did not only remember Noah but He also remembered all the animals that were with him. God took cognizance of the factors Noah will face to adopt to the new world he was coming into.
So that wind was necessary. If the wind did not blow as it did, Noah and the animals will still face the challenges associated with the waters in the future. It is divine wisdom and favor that brought the wind. It will blow, no matter how fierce it does, no life shall be lost because it was sent by Love.
We will wonder why our good God will choose that driving wind; why not something else? Why not just command the waters to disappear.
There are three things God always wanted to achieve as He dealt with His people; be it in punishment or blessings.
He always wants to give us something to remember so we don’t forget Him as we are prone to do. More have failed God in the time of blessing than those who failed Him in the time hardship
He wants to give us testimonies to cheer-up other people that could find themselves in such situations in the future. Like I said earlier, challenges are part of life and all men will face it at one time or the other. A man who has seen pain will be more qualified to encourage those passing through pain.
Thirdly, God always wants us to come out stronger, tougher and better after any process He passed us through. He is out to make mighty men and women
So the Psalmist said,
Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me Ps 23:4NIV
Comfort does not mean to bring us out of the challenge but to supply us with the required energy and stamina so that we will emerge more than conquerors. Everything happening around you and those that will happen after now, have one focus; they came to clear the way for you.
The waters continued to recede until the tenth month, and on the first day of the tenth month the tops of the mountains became visible Gen 8:5NIV
Before the first day of the tenth month, it would appear that all Noah had was trouble upon trouble. But on this day, there was an evidence, a proof, something to show that the wind was working. That is the point people begin to celebrate you and friends who had abandoned us will begin to seek our phone numbers. Yet, I want you to know that this is only the beginning of your recovery and repositioning. Indeed, better days are ahead.
I don’t know from where you are reading this but take my word, all the shaking you feel now is moving away the obstacles to your future establishment. You may not understand it but that is why you are called to have faith in God. The just lives by faith and without faith the just will begin to suffocate.
I want to welcome you to this wonderful new month. In this month you will begin to see the material manifestation of all the secret work God has been doing in your life since January in Jesus name
You will come out better, stronger and more blessed in Jesus name.
Just shout it out loud, “Lord, I thank you because I know you are working everything for my good!”
*Happy New Month*
Please share this with someone.
I am praying for you
